Kingston Vale 20.30 - 22.00 Classes will take place every other Monday

Class Price List

CapableCanines are pleased to offer Heelwork to Music classes.

Heelwork to Music is a relatively new activity introduced over the last 4 - 5 years. It is the combination of a handler moving their dog in different behaviours to a piece of music. The length of the routine can last from 1-minute at novice level to 3-4 minutes at advanced level. Several competitions are run throughout the year. Heelwork to Music displays are held on a regular basis throughout the Country, at Crufts and Discover Dogs.

At CapableCanines, we are not competition based but run the classes for the enjoyment of the activity. If you do want to compete, we will of course train you to competition standard and support you all the way. We have several dogs in our classes that are good enough for competition, but their owners have decided that they are not ready at this present time.

The classes are very informal, challenging and fun.

We teach you to train your dog many different behaviours i.e. spin, bow, walking backwards, leg-weaving, crawl, walking-sideways to name but a few. We then start to put these moves together to a piece of music with you moving with your dog. If the word dancing worries you because you think you can't dance, don't worry, it is not strictly dancing but learning to move to the beat of the music, incorporating the behaviours that your dog has been taught.

The class is not a course but is on a purely come as you please basis at fortnightly intervals. You only move at a pace you feel comfortable with.

Go on, Give it a go - you may just be surprised at how talented both you and your dog are!

All dogs taking part in this class will need to have some basic obedience training as this will NOT be taught as part of the class.

Chris & Daisy

A dramatic move where Daisy jumps over Chris's right arm

Arm Jump

Daisy then goes behind Chris to jump over her left arm

Triple Jump

Daisy jumps through Chris's arms in a central position between her legs. Chris then moves her arms to her left outside of her left leg.

Daisy turns behind Chris then jumps through her arms. Chris then moves her arms ouside her right leg and Daisy jumps through completing this movement.

Dave & Hope

Hope weaves through Dave's legs to the beat of the music selected.

Leg Weave

Timing the weave correctly takes practice.

Tip Tap

Hope touches Daves foot with her left paw then touches his other foot with her right paw.

After perfecting the Tip Tap in front, Dave will move to Hope's side with Hope standing. When Dave lifts his feet Hope will copy him as the start to marching to the music.
